Mauritania has been our springboard that triggered the creation of SHARE as a non profit organisation : A combination of a few individuals goodwill, led by Dr François BOULON and the continuous support by the Health Authorities in Nouakchott, visionary for their people, the National Center for Cardiology (CNC) has been created to host a cathlab in the late 2000’s.

To make it happen, two critical components were necessary :

• The adequate training for a full cathlab staff to diagnose and treat patients presenting with cardiovascular disease
• The assurance that the necessary financial investments would be sustained over time, to complement the teams in place.

A memoradum of understanding has been signed between SHARE and the CNC to confirm the provision of various training progrrams and onsite missions.

Once the Health Authorities in Mauritania have been onboard, validating the sustainability of the project to develop a cathlab onsite, François Bourlon welcomed in Monaco (Centre CardioThoracique de Monaco) trained a number of cardiologists and nurses from Mauritania to develop their skills to manage a cathlab in Nouakchott.
