SHARE, the Monaco government, AMADE Monaco and the ECO System company signed on March 15 2017 a partnership agreement to build a cardiac cathlab within the hospital Mother-Child in Bamako Mali, the first cathlab ever in Mali. The official launch of the building will be taking place in Bamako on the 6th of April, with representatives from all concerned parties.
This partnership agreement signature took place at the offices of the International Cooperation of Monaco, and both Dr TERRA and Dr TOURE were present, the former having recently completed his interventional cardiology fellowship and training in Monaco whereas the latter currently undergoes his training at the Centre CardioThoracique in Monaco.
Dr Mohamed Issa EL KHARCHI arrived in India on January 1st to initiate his interventional cardiology fellowship at the Fortis Appolo clinic in New Delhi, under the leadership of Prof Ashok Seth, a world leading pioneering interventional cardiologist. Dr EL KHARCHI will return to his home country Mauritania to work as interventional cardiologist at the Cheik Zaeyed Hospital within the National Centre of Cardiology.
Dr TERRA, the future head of the cahtlab in Bamako Mali, has completed his two years interventional cardiology fellowship in Monaco This training concentrated on developing his skills as interventionalist whilst in Monaco; Dr Terra attended as well and validated post-graduate educational programmes in Paris, those complementing his practical training.
Despite numerous administrative hurdles, we are glad to welcome Dr TOURE at the Centre CardioThoracique de Monaco since September 2016. Dr TOURE, a registered cardiologist in Mali, will complete his fellowship and training in interventional cardiology under the chaperoning of Dr BOURLON and Dr HUGUES for at least a full year.
